Washington Wizards forward Al Harrington had an arthroscopic procedure Monday to remove loose particles from his right knee.

The team announced that Dr. Richard Steadman performed the operation in Vail, Colo. Harrington is expected to miss four weeks before he is re-evaluated.

Harrington, 33, averaged 7.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in seven games before he was shut down in mid-November.

The Wizards also announced that guard Bradley Beal is making progress as he works his way back from a leg injury.

According to the team, Beal had an MRI exam that showed the stress injury to his right fibula was healing. As a result, the guard received clearance to increase basketball activities.

Beal, Washington's leading scorer, missed his sixth game Monday when the Wizards played host to the Denver Nuggets. The 20-year-old is averaging 20.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this season.

As a rookie in 2012-13, Beal averaged 13.9 point, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
