injury Update. Steve Blake has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He is expected to be out a minimum of 6 weeks.— Los Angeles Lakers (@Lakers) December 12, 2013
Though Steve Blake may not seem like the greatest point guard in the world, one point guard is better than no point guard. And the Lakers now have no point guard, and quite frankly, Steve Blake was having a great season considering his surrounding cast.
Kobe Bryant will now be thrust into the role of bringing the ball up the floor, manning the backcourt with Jodi Meeks. The Lakers weren't destined for a playoff spot by any stretch of the imagination, but now their odds have severely diminished.
Lakers fans shouldn't be rooting for anything other than ping pong balls at this rate.
