TNT analyst Steve Kerr is close to making a decision on whether or not to accept the New York Knicks' head coaching job, according to reports.

Kerr's final TNT broadcast could be Saturday night as he is working Game 7 of the Memphis Grizzlies-Oklahoma City Thunder first-round playoffs series in Oklahoma City.

Kerr is reportedly expected to make a decision early next week.

Kerr might also wait to see if the Golden State Warriors part with coach Mark Jackson. There have been reports that a rift exists between Jackson and the team's front office. If the Warriors lose Game 7 of their series at the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night, the team could let Jackson go.

Kerr lives in San Diego and would prefer to stay on the West Coast. However, his former college coach at Arizona, Lute Olson, said this week that going to New York is not an issue for Kerr because his children are in college and his wife already gave her blessing.

Kerr helped the Chicago Bulls win three NBA titles in the 1990s as a player when current Knicks president Phil Jackson was coach. He also won two NBA titles with the San Antonio Spurs in 1999 and 2003.
