Forward Rudy Gay will be traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Sacramento Kings in a seven-player deal, Yahoo Sports reported Sunday.
According to the report, Sacramento will receive Gay, forward Quincy Acy and center Aaron Gray in exchange for point guard Greivis Vasquez and forwards John Salmons, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes.
Gay, 27, has a $17.9 million salary this season, plus a $19.3 million player option for next season, making him an expensive luxury for a team that began play Sunday with a 6-12 record, two games out of the final playoff position in the NBA's weak Eastern Conference.
A seven-year veteran out of Connecticut, Gay is averaging 19.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.2 assist per game, all improvements over his career averages of 18, 5.9 and 2.1, respectively.
Vasquez, 26, is producing 9.8 points, 5.3 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game.
Salmons, 33, averages 5.8 point, 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
Patterson, 24, provides 6.9 points and 5.8 boards per game. Hayes, 30, is averaging 2.1 points and 2.9 rebounds.
Gray, 29, and Acy, 23, were little-used reserves for Toronto.
