It was hinted at in the offseason, and now it's been confirmed that Patrick Beverley will start over Jeremy Lin.
The addition of Dwight Howard gives them a lot more flexibility at the other four positions, so don't expect this to be final, but for opening night Kevin McHale has decided to start the second year defense-oriented Beverley over Lin.
According to a report, the starting five will feature, Beverly, James Harden, Chandler Parsons, and Omer Asik alongside Dwight Howard. You could see Beverly and Lin logging some minutes together as Harden could slot over in the three easily, or when Houston decides to play small ball.
As his track record has proven, Lin's confidence shouldn't be bothered by coming off the bench, and he'll be ready to play when called upon.
