Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose says the NBA told him not to wear the Kinesio-Tape medical strips that he used the past two games to help him deal with soreness in his neck muscles.

Rose told CSNChicago.com on Wednesday morning at the Bulls' shootaround in Indianapolis that he probably will take off the strips for the game against the Indiana Pacers.

"I think the NBA told me I got to stop," Rose told CSNChicago.com at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. "So I probably won't be able to wear it tonight."

Rose didn't have an answer for why he's not supposed to wear the strips, other than the possibility that it violates the league's strict uniform code.

"I don't know. I don't even want to get into that," he said. "I don't know. I swear I don't know."

Rose injured neck muscles in the Bulls' season opener against the Miami Heat and turned to the tape strips for support in his next game.

The former NBA MVP is off to a slow start in his return after sitting out the 2012-13 season to recover from knee surgery. Rose is averaging 14.3 points and 4.3 assists in three games but is shooting only 28.8 percent from the field and 26.7 percent on 3-pointers.
