The All-Star Game is scheduled to be played Feb. 16 in New Orleans, which means Westbrook is expected to be sidelined nearly two months.
Westbrook suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee during the second game of the NBA playoffs last April. He had surgery on April 27, and had another operation on Oct. 1 to remove a loose stitch from the first procedure.
He returned to action ahead of schedule and ended up missing just two regular-season games.
He has been named to the All-Star team each of the past three seasons.
Dolan reportedly called the meeting before practice a day after the team's 29-point loss at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder. There has been speculation that coach Mike Woodson could be fired and trades could be made. The Knicks are 9-19.
