The Orlando Magic waived forward Hedo Turkoglu, the team announced Friday.
Turkoglu, 34, has not played in an NBA game since last February, and he was suspended 20 games last season for violating the terms of the league anti-drug program.
But apparently Turkoglu still wants to play in the NBA, and he is now a free agent who can sign with any team.
Turkoglu was waived so the Magic could take the unguaranteed $6 million off his current $12 million deal.
---The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without guard Kyrie Irving for Saturday's game against the Brooklyn Nets because of knee contusion.
This will be the second straight game Irving misses, and it's unclear whether he will play in Sunday's game against Orlando.
---The Sacramento Kings assigned center Hamady Ndiaye to Reno of the NBA Development League.
Ndiaye is averaging 0.4 points, 1.3 rebounds and 5.3 minutes in 14 games this season for the Kings.
--- The Toronto Raptors assigned guard Dwight Buycks to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League. Buycks will continue to be included on the Raptors' roster and will be placed on the team's inactive list.
