Michael Beasley was cut by the Suns this summer after he was booked on marijuana possession, which of course was not his first run-in with the law. Teams around the league were not willing to take a chance on Beasley because of the threat of him being a cancer in the locker room, and his perceived inability to play team basketball. Feeling their championship influence could help him, the Miami Heat decided to take a chance on Beas.
During Thursday's pre season game the former number two pick of the Heat was called for travelling, and on his way back on defense he was so upset with himself that he punched himself in the head. At the time it seemed harmless, but apparently he hit himself so hard that after the game he required medical attention. I wonder if Kevin Garnett has ever injured himself after emphatic chest bumps, or clanging his head against the stanchion.
Upset with himself over missing a shot, Beasley started punching himself in the head while running back on defense. He punched himself so hard that he needed treatment after the game from the Heat’s trainer. Steel compresses (like the ones cut doctors use in boxing) were applied to Beasley’s brow in the locker room.
The Heat's new bench forward apparently played well though posting 9 points in 9 minutes, and hustling on defense.
