Mark Cuban thinks Dwight Howard made a mistake in choosing the Rockets over the Mavericks.
Two summers in a row the Mavs have cleared cap space to try and lure big name free agents, and twice they've come up empty. Last year it was Deron Williams, and this year it was Howard who chose another team over Dallas.
Speaking to the Dallas Morning News, Cuban says that Dwight made an error in judgment by choosing another Texas team over the Mavs, and flippantly says that while he holds no ill will towards D12 he does hope that Houston has a bad year.
"Obviously, he made a mistake in judgment,” Cuban said with a laugh when asked if he could blame the 6-11 center for choosing young James Harden and the Rockets over older Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks. “Do I blame him? No, that’s what young kids do. They make mistakes in judgment.” [...]
So he doesn’t have any ill feelings?
“None,” Cuban said. “Not even a little bit, because I think we came out pretty good. If we were stuck, then maybe. But like I say about every other team, I hope they suck. I say that every year. It’s nothing personal. I still like Dwight as a person.
It should be noted that Cuban is only jokingly saying harsh things about Dwight, and his point is that any free agent that chooses another team over the Mavericks made a mistake.
