Hakeem Olajuwon had the greatest offensive post game of the modern generation of basketball, and, as you know, many players have flocked to him for his post tutelage. From big men like Dwight Howard and Amar’e, to LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
In a recent interview, Dream was asked what players in today’s NBA could benefit from his training and he listed Blake Griffin first and foremost, and also Kevin Durant – who Hakeem feels doesn’t use his height and length advantage as much as he could.
On his tour through Europe, KD was at the House of Hoops in Spain, and was asked about possibly working with Olajuwon to improve his post game. Durantula thinks there can never be another Hakeem, but tells Fernando Martin he is open to learning from him.
I just try to take some stuff out of his game and put it to mine's, but it's so hard to try to be like Hakeem Olajuwon. But I'm up for anything. I'm looking forward to learning from anybody, so... We'll see."
