VegasInsider.com has the New York Knicks’ 2014 championship odds at 25/1, but reserve swingman J.R. Smith says it’s more like 1/1.
During a recent Q&A, Smith said he is “100 percent sure” the Knicks will walk away with the 2014 title. What’s more, he even found time to take a jab at the Nets.
J.R. Smith guaranteed yesterday the Knicks will bring home a championship and claimed the Nets are “still not good.”
During a question-and-answer session with kid golfers at Chelsea Piers, Smith was asked how sure he was of the Knicks ending their title drought this season.
“I’m 100 percent sure,” the swingman said.
The competition out East is severe at the top as the Bulls have the last MVP not named LeBron James returning to their lineup, and the Pacers have Danny Granger coming back and strengthened their bench. Factor in the Nets’ acquisitions and it looks like a tall task for a team to “guarantee” they will even make it out the East.
