Lamar Odom had a tabloid-filled summer as rumors of his drug use, and marital woes circulated heavily. Now he is reportedly working out in Rhode Island with a trainer and wants to join the Clippers or Lakers.
Next week the forward is going to L.A. to visit the Clippers and work out with them, and if he can impress them then Rivers wants Odom on the team.
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said he plans on staying in touch with Odom.
The plan is for Odom to visit the team's practice facility this week, according to people in the NBA who weren't authorized to speak publicly on the matter. It would be Odom's second visit this month.
Doc is such a big fan of Odom's that he says he'd like to see Lamar make it back in the league even if it's not with the Clips.
