John Wall signed a massive extension this summer, and now he is focused on leading his team to the playoffs and has come up with a unique way to constantly remind himself.
After signing an $80 million extension, Wall wants to prove that he's worth the money and help lead the Wizards back to the playoffs. In order to remind himself, and keep his teammates focused on the goal, the Wiz' point guard is going to write "playoffs" across his in-game sneakers. He will scroll the motivational word on every pair he plays in.
When the Washington Wizards open the season Oct. 30 in Detroit, Wall will take the court with the word “playoffs” scribbled on his shoes. He will repeat the exercise every day, through 82 games, lest he or anyone else lose sight of the goal.“You will see it on all my shoes,” Wall said last week. “Every game pair is going to have `playoffs’ on it. That’s my main determination.”“I should be in the playoffs,” Wall said.
