This summer, Jason Kidd pleaded guilty to a DUI charge stemming from last year.  As part of his plea he will go to high schools and speaks to kids about the dangers of drinking and driving

The NBA has also suspended coach Kidd the first two games of the season, so his coaching debut with the Brooklyn Nets will not come until November 3rd.  Assistant coach Lawrence Frank is expected to helm the bench in Kidd's absence.

NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets rookie head coach Jason Kidd was suspended for the first two games of the regular season after having pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired in July, the NBA said Friday.

Kidd will miss the team's regular-season opener on Oct. 30 in Cleveland, as well as its home-opener on Nov. 1 against Miami. Kidd will make his regular-season coaching debut Nov. 3 in Orlando.
