Derrick Rose hasn't played in an NBA game in 18 months, and took all of last year off to rehab his knee. Not feeling 100 percent comfortable with his rhythm and especially attacking double-teams, Rose elected to not play last year, but feels now he is coming back stronger and more explosive than before.
Now he has been practicing at full speed with his teammates, and he talks about the aggressive mindset he has in attacking his teammates, or whoever he faces on the court. He says he's not nervous about any upcoming pre-season or regular season games against other teams because at all times he attacks the defense with the same principals, and jokes that even if his mom is on the court, "she's going to get killed."
"I'm a guy where whoever is on the court, I'm going to go at them," Rose said. "If it's my teammates -- it could be my mom on the court, she's going to get killed. I could care less. For me, I'm just trying to build that mentality where I don't care who's out there, I'm trying to play the same way."
