Derrick Rose Explains Thinking He's Best Player In NBA

Two seasons ago Derrick Rose was the MVP, and last year he sat the entire season with a knee injury.  Having worked hard on not only rehabbing his knee, but improving his all-around game, D Rose says he is coming back quicker and more explosive than ever.

Asked earlier this summer who was the best player in the league, Rose made no hesitation in naming himself.  This turned heads, as the consensus is LeBron James is the undisputed best player in the world.  Later on, the Bulls point guard stood by his stance that he is the league's best.  Asked by MTV why he believes he's the best in the league, Derrick answered flatly that any franchise player should believe they are the absolute best, otherwise they shouldn't be a franchise player.

Do you consider yourself the best player in the league?
I believe so. I believe if you’re any franchise player, any pro athlete and you don’t believe you’re the best player in the league, the owner should fire you or you should retire. You should have that confidence that you’re the best — or you want to be the best — or you shouldn’t be playing that sport or doing what you’re doing.

LeBron James is the best player in the league until someone can take the crown from him. It's interesting to note that two of the players who are in contention with LBJ for that title, Rose and Kevin Durant, have been working out together this summer.  KD says that D Rose looks even better than before, so perhaps he can contest with King James' throne.
