After a brutal last few seasons battling injuries and becoming a ghost in Indiana, Danny Granger is set to make his return. Granger, who has played only 5 games in the past 2 seasons, has been rehabbing a calf injury.
Though Granger understands he will be returning to the lineup as a sub, it will be interesting to see how the Pacers react moving forward. The Pacers reached the conference finals without Granger, and have started this season 18-3, the best in the NBA. The one time all-star will not only have to get back into game speed, but also re assimilate his game with the rest of the Pacers cast. Easier said than done.
If Granger embraces his role as a veteran that can provide crucial minutes during the playoffs, the Pacers will be that much stronger. The problem is, the Pacers have such a great rapport that adding an extra piece could mess up their chemistry.
Regardless, Indiana will be happy to welcome back their former star later this week.
