Brazilian Drug Lord Gave Al Harrington A "Ghetto Pass"
The Wizards' Al Harrington was in Brazil with the team for an exhibition game against the Chicago Bulls and was granted access from a drug lord to visit a Brazilian hood.
Called "favelas" in Brazil, they are run by drug lords and no one is allowed access in or out without getting a pass from the man who runs them. It appears, Harrington put in a request and was granted access by a local drug lord. This was part of the NBA Cares program, and the visit was not intended to show off Al's "G Pass," but he was granted access to help raise awareness about the area, and how impoverished many of the children living in shanty there are.
