A couple months ago we heard that Allen Iverson would officially announce his retirement soon, and it appears he is set to do so in a couple weeks.

It's been a difficult summer as we saw Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, and A.I. announce they were stepping away from the game.  Ivy's might be the most difficult though, as there have been numerous reports that he is not doing well financially, and is facing serious personal issues.

The Sixers organization has reached out to the former league MVP and he's appeared at several events. Now he will officially announce his retirement in Philly when they open at home against the Miami Heat on October 30th.
