The 2014 ESPY's took place last night, hosted by Drake, and he did a surprisingly good job at hosting the premier sports award show. Check out his opening monologue in the slides, as well as his skit with Blake Griffin and Chris Brown.
Kevin Durant took home the award for Best Male Athlete and Best NBA Player; his teammate Russell Wesbtrook won the Comeback Athlete Award. NBA Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard won the 'Championship Peformance' Award, and his coach Gregg Popovich won 'Coach/Manager' of the year.
Before the 2014 ESPY's even got underway, Nick Young took to instagram to show you why he's called Swaggy P;
Drake, who has been gushing over Skylar Diggins for some time now, finally got a kiss from the lady baller which should absolutely infuriate her boyfriend who previously warned Drake about hitting on his girl via social media.
Also, the ESPN camera crew did a brilliant job of cutting to a shot of Shabazz Napier's face when Drake acknowledged the fact that LeBron James is going back home to Cleveland. If you're unaware, Shabazz unfollowed LeBron and deleted all tweets sent to him immediately following LeBron's announcement;
One of the highlights of Drake's hosting was the 'Lance Cam' which featured the Toronto native returning the favor to Lance Stephenson, who infamously blew in LeBron James' ear during the playoffs. It got a little weird, but what's more shocking is that Lance didn't haul off and snuff Drake in the face during his bit.
Drake proceeded to drop a song for the losers dubbed 'Honorable Mention' which featured the Miami Heat, California Chrome, and the crying Brazilian fans from the World Cup. Drizzy (that's what the kids are calling him) also premiered 'Side Pieces' featuring Brian McKnight;
Last but not least, Stuart Scott nailed one of the most memorable speeches in sports history when he was presented with the Jimmy V Award.
